The Bertrand Chaffee Hospital Foundation was established in 1997 to provide financial assistance to the hospital and the Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home for capital improvements and scholarships. The Foundation has contributed more than $1.5 million to hospital and nursing home projects in the past decade.

The Foundation is managed by an 11-person board of directors that meets quarterly.

To support a program or department that is special to you or your family, please contact Kara Kane, Development Coordinator, at (716) 592-2871 ext. 1485 or

Each year, the Foundation directs tens of thousands of dollars' worth of community donations toward new equipment, upgraded technology and building improvements to BCH and the Jennie B. Your gift makes it possible for the Foundation to support patient care, resident comfort and the overall growth of BCH as an anchor for medical services and community health.

How to Help

The Foundation funds facility needs to go beyond the operating budget. Your gift of $10, $25 or even $70 in honor of our 70 years of operation makes new equipment and projects possible.

Give a Gift

Mail or deliver a financial contribution to the Bertrand Chaffee Hospital Foundation, 224 East Main Street, Springville, NY 14141. An optional donation form is available to print and mail with your gift.

Unrestricted funds are allocated by the foundation board for hospital and nursing home needs that cannot be met with operating funds.

Create a Memorial Gift

Honor or remember relatives and friends with a memorial donation. Names are recorded in the hospital’s Memory Book, located in the BCH lobby.

Celebrate Local Healthcare

For your next birthday, anniversary or other special occasion, ask your family and friends to make a donation in your honor to support local healthcare. Request a celebration kit or call our office at (716) 592-2871 ext. 1485.

Donate Online

Secure online donations are now accepted through Paypal. Please indicate if this is a memorial/tribute gift, or if you would like to direct it to a specific department or program.

Wish List

There are opportunities for donors to provide support for one-time equipment and facility needs for the hospital and nursing home. If you or your family would like to make a gift to meet one of those needs, in full or in part, please call the Foundation office  at (716) 592-2871 ext. 1485 .

Leave a Legacy

Include the hospital and foundation in your will or estate plan by talking to your attorney or financial planner, and share those wishes with your family and advisors.

United Way

If your employer participates in the United Way of Buffalo and Erie County annual campaign, you can direct your gift through that to the Bertrand Chaffee Hospital Foundation.

Donate your cans and bottles

When dropping of cans and bottles for deposit at the Can Man in Springville, ask that those nickels be applied to the Bertrand Chaffee Hospital Foundation. Those cents add up each month!

Payroll Deduction

BCH and JBR employees can participate in payroll deduction, starting at any time during the year. The average gift each payroll is about $5, and any amount each paycheck can add up to a meaningful gift. Ask HR or Kara Kane for a form or for more information.
